A well-illustrated popular introduction to the technology and art of cinema, covering the history of film, camera construction, film processing, projection equipment, animation and trick photography, sound recording, colour cinematography, and specialized forms of filmmaking. Illustrated throughout with numerous diagrams explaining cinematic apparatus and sound-film technology, together with photographic reproductions of film strips and equipment.
Good condition. Approximately 1 cm loss at the head of the spine, minor wear to the extremities of the wrappers, and a minuscule light stain to the lower fore-edge corner of the text block, affecting only the extreme margin. Interior otherwise clean and bright.
An attractive Latvian pre-war publication on the science and technology of cinema, notable for its modernist wrapper design.
