Slang, F. (Fritz Hampel) – Křižník Potěmkin: Povstání námořníků před Oděsou 1905 [Battleship Potemkin: The Sailors' Revolt off Odessa, 1905]
Prague: Jan Fromek (Malá edice Odeon, svazek 2), 1926. 17.5 × 13 cm. 75, [2] pp. Original photo-illustrated wrappers designed by Karel Teige, incorporating a striking montage derived from Sergei Eisenstein's landmark film Battleship Potemkin. Illustrated with 5 documentary photographs and 10 film stills.
Early Czech film publication issued only a year after Eisenstein's revolutionary cinematic masterpiece, combining an account of the 1905 mutiny with images from the film that became one of the defining works of Soviet montage cinema. An attractive example of Teige's early graphic design, notable for its bold constructivist typography and photomontage cover in black and red.
Good condition. Wear and minor loss to spine with exposed gatherings, small loss at top border of rear wrappers; light creasing and edge wear to wrappers; internally clean and complete.
