Scarce promotional brochure issued by the Bürgerliches Bräuhaus of Pilsen for the 1873 Vienna World's Fair (Weltausstellung Wien 1873). Published at the height of the brewery's international rise, the text traces the history of the Bürgerliches Bräuhaus from its founding in 1840 through the worldwide success of the original Pilsner beer, emphasizing its role as the birthplace of the now world-famous "Pilsner Bier." It also describes the brewery's modern production methods, growing export trade, and reputation among visitors from across Europe. Illustrated with an attractive contemporary bird's-eye view of the extensive brewery complex, the brochure concludes with the brewery's registered "Pilsner Bier" Schutz-Marke (protective trademark), adopted to distinguish its beer from the many imitations already appearing on the market.
