Metal clasp. 10 heliogravures of photographs by Avit Szubert, who was the first in history to photograph the interiors of the Wieliczka salt mine. Very good condition. In 1892 Szubert asked permission to take photographs of selected chambers of the Wieliczka mine. A few days later, on February 29, permission was granted and the Krakow photographer, together with his wife Amelia, who came from the Dietz mining family, photographed the mine's interiors. Szubert couple spent more than two months underground, and the result of their work is twenty, today's best-known photographs of the Wieliczka mine, published in Vienna in 1893.
