The text comprises poems, speeches, addresses, and commemorative essays distributed throughout ten consecutively numbered gatherings and accompanied by original lithographic views. An evocative document of Czech patriotic culture in the years immediately preceding the Revolution of 1848, reflecting the civic pride and national aspirations associated with Chotek's ambitious modernization programme. The lithographic views provide valuable contemporary visual records of Prague and its environs during a period of rapid urban transformation. Collated complete against the copy preserved in the Czech National Library. Good condition. Wrappers worn with tears. Some moisture and other staining, and creasing throughout; folding plate with expected fold wear. A scarce survival of Czech civic and patriotic printing from the Chotek era.
