Warsaw Photograph Album (c. 1930–1935)
Anonymous – Warsaw Photograph Album (c. 1930–1935) Oblong 13.5 × 16 cm. Original cloth boards with printed camel device to upper cover. Contains 15 original silver gelatin photographs (approx. 6 × 9 cm), mounted to card leaves. A coherent amateur photograph album documenting Warsaw in the early 1930s, including views of the Old Town Market Square, Krakowskie Przedmieście, Łazienki Park (Palace on the Isle), street scenes with tram traffic, commercial signage (“podróżuj lotem” for LOT Polish Airlines), and informal portraits, including Jewish residents. A visual record of pre-war Warsaw, much of which was destroyed during the Second World War and later reconstructed. Condition: Boards worn and marked, with rubbing and discoloration; album structurally sound. Internally clean, photographs well-preserved with good contrast. Inv. H5
