Talpa Literaria Operi Utili Vacans (The Literary Mole, Devoted to a Useful Work) Prague (Vetera-Pragae): Franciscus Carolus Hladky, Archiepiscopal Printer, 1751. 21 × 17 cm. 326, [1] pp. Contemporary gilt-patterned paper-covered boards. A mid-18th-century Latin devotional and chronographic work with censor’s approval dated 30 August 1751 and imprimatur by Antonius Wenceslaus Wokau. Decorative woodcut initials and ornaments throughout, and a striking winged Father Time device on the title page. Text in large Roman type with eccentric capitalization characteristic of clerical chronographic verse. Binding worn, with loss to lower and upper spine covering and rubbing to corners and edges; patterned boards dulled but intact. Internally clean. A complete, unsophisticated copy in its original Central-European binding. Inv. Ho10
