Scarce English-language report on the educational and humanitarian activities of the Russian Zemstvos and Towns Relief Committee (Zemgor) among Russian émigrés following the Revolution and Civil War. Although undated, the pamphlet was reviewed in the International Review of the Red Cross in April 1927, establishing publication no later than the first months of that year. The text itself surveys the Committee's activities through 1926.

The report traces the origins and organization of Zemgor and documents its extensive educational work among Russian refugees from 1921 to 1926, particularly its network of schools for émigré children. It discusses kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools, curricula, pupils, vocational preparation, "learning and earning," national identity and religious education, auxiliary institutions, and assistance to young people leaving school.

An important contemporary document of the efforts of the first-wave Russian emigration to maintain educational, cultural, and social institutions in exile. Very good condition.
