Official military regulations issued under Empress Maria Theresa for Habsburg forces stationed in the Austrian and Bohemian hereditary lands. The regulations concern the administration and discipline of the army, including quartering and provisioning of troops, conduct during marches, requisition of transport, recruitment, remounts, military debts and disciplinary offences. Includes detailed tables concerning the organization, provisions and requirements of infantry, dragoon and hussar regiments. Printed in Prague in German in Fraktur, with the imperial arms on the title page and an imperial eagle at the opening of the text. The decree concludes with the printed name MARIA THERESIA and that of Joseph Graf von Harrach and is dated Vienna, 13 July 1748. Original plain paper wrappers with old blue-grey cloth reinforcement to spine. Contemporary or early manuscript annotations to front wrapper and circular ownership stamp “L.S.” internally. Wrappers soiled and worn, with creasing, a few instances of minor loss at margins and small hole in back page; contents generally well preserved. Good condition.
