Complete two-part run of this important early manifesto of the radical West German counterculture, edited by Christofer Boldeney, philosopher Rodolphe Gasché, and Dieter Kunzelmann, who would subsequently become involved with Subversive Aktion and Kommune 1. Published privately in Munich, Unverbindliche Richtlinien proposed a fundamental reorganization of social life and attacked established political, economic, religious, and familial structures. Its themes anticipate many of the ideas that would become central to the German radical and countercultural movements later in the 1960s.

Laid into Heft 1 is a contemporary handwritten copy of the twenty-point "January Manifesto" (Januar-Manifest) of Gruppe SPUR, written in blue ink on two leaves of squared paper. The manuscript concludes with the names of the five members of the group, Sturm, Prem, Fischer, Kunzelmann, and Zimmer, matching the published manifesto. The January Manifesto is one of the foundational texts of the German Situationist and SPUR movement.
