Džezové encyklopedie 1967-69
Džezové encyklopedie / Jazzová encyklopedie: Hudební profily předních postav džezové scény [The Jazz Encyclopedia: Profiles of Leading Figures of the Jazz Scene]. 1–5. Prague: Československý rozhlas, 1967–1969. Five brochures (21 × 11 cm). Illustrated wrappers; each with laid-in program schedule and multipaneled fold-out biographical sheet. Complete set of five issues produced as companions to a popular Czechoslovak Radio series broadcast from March 1967 to September 1969, devoted to major figures of the jazz canon. The program featured over 90, primarily American, musicians—among them Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald—each issue providing concise discographic and biographical reference material tied to a specific broadcast. Very good condition overall. Issues 1, 3, and 5 with numbers in ink at lower left corner; issue 2 with owner’s stamp at upper right. Light general wear consistent with ephemeral use. InvH3
