Attractive nineteenth-century bibliophile reprint comprising three rare seventeenth-century French satirical texts: Avis donné aux hommes martyrisez par leurs femmes, Nouvelle Gazette enrhumée, avec les remèdes pour se garantir du rhume, mal de tête & d’estomach, and Le Testament du scientific et pralific Picotin, Baron des Capilotades, Marquis des Ragouts, etc. Printed in Lille by A. Lesguillon and completed on 20 July 1877, as stated in the colophon. The volume reproduces the original 1651 Paris edition and includes a facsimile woodcut illustration depicting a wife chastising her husband, reflecting the humorous and burlesque character of the texts.
