Issue 27 of the Belgian contemporary-art periodical Plus-Moins-Zéro, an important forum for experimental and conceptual art, performance, and alternative artistic practices during the 1970s and 1980s. The journal was published from 1973 to 1991. Particularly interesting for its documentation of performance and countercultural activity. Contents include Elisabeth Besson’s substantial article on the French collective Groupe UNTEL, illustrated with photographs of their interventions in Chalon-sur-Saône; material on the French punk group Terril, including photographs by Nicole Forsbach; Jean Clair; Ruth Francken; the 9th International Tapestry Biennale in Lausanne; Kaaitheater 1979; the Brussels International Theatre Festival; Marianne Berenhaut; Monique Alluin; and other contemporary art and cultural material. Besson’s article on UNTEL has subsequently been cited in institutional bibliographies devoted to the group and socially engaged art practices.
