Hansjürgen Bulkowski – PRO 22: Ein schriftlicher Vorgang. Experimental Literature, Fluxus and Intermedia, 1972
Issue 22 of Hansjürgen Bulkowski’s experimental publication PRO, documenting a continuing process of correspondence, actions, texts and exchanges among an international network of writers, artists and musicians. The material is arranged chronologically and reproduces correspondence, announcements, newspaper clippings, notes, drawings and other documents, with an English-language summary at the end. Bulkowski (1938–2024) was a German writer, publisher and organizer active in experimental literature and intermedia. His PRO publications formed part of the overlapping Fluxus, concrete-poetry and intermedia networks of the period. PRO also circulated material by Higgins and figures including Robert Filliou and Jochen Gerz. PRO 22 records contributions and communications involving Claus Böhmler, Rolf Brück, Jürgen Billig, Pierre Pinoncelli, Walter Aue, Jochen Gerz, Cornelius Cardew, Ingrid Hünsche, Werner Wenz, Landfried Schröpfer and others. Subjects include experimental writing, communication projects, performance, sound, mail-based activity and conceptual practices. The publication also contains a bibliography of German-language poetry and information on Bulkowski’s related distribution activities. VG condition.
