Published as an annual booklet, PRO brought together contributions by Bulkowski and Landfried Schröpfer within what the publication describes as an “open sign system,” presented through texts, diagrams, drawings, photographs and reproduced documentary material. German text with translations; includes a bibliography of German-language poetry.Bulkowski (1938–2024) was a German writer, publisher and organizer active in experimental literature and intermedia. His PRO publications formed part of the overlapping Fluxus, concrete-poetry and intermedia networks of the period. Bulkowski had connections with Dick Higgins and other figures associated with Fluxus; both Bulkowski and Higgins participated in intermedia ’69 in Heidelberg. This issue includes material by Landfried Schröpfer and documents their collaborative project RE'UN'ANZ, described as an open sign system. The visual material includes linguistic and conceptual diagrams, graphic notation, drawings, photographs and documentation of actions, reflecting the intersection of experimental literature, conceptual art and communication theory characteristic of the PRO project.
