An attractive early promotional history of the Měšťanský pivovar in Plzeň, the brewery responsible for the creation of Pilsner beer in 1842. Describes the brewery’s history, its celebrated brewmasters, production, facilities, equipment, cooperage, and international reputation, with numerous photographs of the brewery and its industrial operations. Of particular interest are two supplements preserved at the rear as issued: a large folding plan of the brewery complex and cellars, and a striking color advertising postcard for Plzeňský Prazdroj, depicting in eight humorous sequential panels an enthusiastic drinker consuming an enormous stein of Pilsner. The postcard is captioned Pozdrav z „Měšťanského pivovaru“ v Plzni [Greetings from the Citizens’ Brewery in Pilsen]. VG condition.
