An early postwar publication by Latvian writer Anšlavs Eglītis (1906–1993), issued in Germany for the Latvian displaced-persons community following the Soviet occupation of Latvia. The book consists of three interconnected stories featuring Teoduls Supersakso, a fictional Swiss Alpine mountain guide, drawing upon Eglītis's interest in mountaineering and familiarity with the Alps. Illustrated and designed by Veronika Janelsiņa (1910–2001), Latvian artist and wife of the author, with seven colour plates, a portrait frontispiece, decorative initials, and original illustrated wrappers. Published under the authorization of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA), the book is an example of Latvian literary and artistic production in the displaced-persons communities of postwar Germany.
