An uncommon interwar essay by the philosopher, sociologist, and cultural theorist J. L. Fischer, one of the leading intellectual figures of Brno between the wars. Fischer argues for the importance of regional culture as a creative force within modern society, opposing both provincialism and excessive cultural centralization.
