An early and visually impressive survey of postwar Polish poster design, published just before the emergence of the internationally celebrated Polish School of Posters. The album documents poster production from 1944–1953, encompassing political and social propaganda, cultural events, exhibitions, film, and public campaigns. Among the designers represented are Mieczysław Berman, Walerian Borowczyk, Wojciech Fangor, Wiktor Górka, Tadeusz Gronowski, Jan Lenica, Eryk Lipiński, Józef Mroszczak, Julian Pałka, Waldemar Świerzy, Henryk Tomaszewski, Tadeusz Trepkowski, and Wojciech Zamecznik.

Particularly notable as a substantial contemporary record of the formative postwar period of Polish graphic design, with numerous full-page reproductions and several striking examples of early photomontage and Socialist Realist poster design.

Dust jacket in good condition, with toning and wear to the upper edge and spine, including several small marginal tears and chips; softcover volume itself very good.
