A privately printed edition of František Bílek’s essay. Issued as a New Year’s greeting for 1929 by Karel Reichl for friends of his Špalíček publishing series. Printed by Kryl and Scotti in Nový Jičín in an edition of 250 numbered, non-commercial copies on Japanese paper. This copy numbered 18, signed by Bílek and with a manuscript dedication to the Czech painter and graphic artist Jaromír Stretti-Zamponi (1882–1959). Additionally signed by the publisher Karel Reichl on the colophon. Includes a full-page woodcut frontispiece and a small illustration, reproduced on the front wrapper. A well-preserved copy with minor fading to the border of wrappers.
