Extensively illustrated with photographs and contemporary automobile advertisements.Account of an approximately 6,000-km automobile journey undertaken by Austrian motoring journalist Adolf Schmal-Filius (1872–1919) and his wife Dolfa in a four-cylinder Laurin & Klement 25 HP. Their route took them through the Dolomites and Italy, along the Riviera and across the Alps into France before returning to Vienna. The car reportedly completed the journey without mechanical breakdown apart from tire problems. With a foreword by Alexander Pallavicini, president of the Imperial-Royal Austrian Automobile Club.Good condition. Some soiling to boards and small scuff to front-board illustration.
