Součková, Milada – První písmena [The First Letters] (První písmena) Prague: Private printing, 1934. 8vo. First edition Rebound in light grey linen boards with front wrappers bound in front. Signed by the author on the title page, with additional contemporary inscription dated 8 December 1935. Often cited as the first Czech book to employ a sustained stream-of-consciousness technique, marking a key moment in Czech literary modernism. Součková, later associated with the Prague Linguistic Circle (which she joined in 1936), served after the Second World War as Czech cultural attaché in New York and remained in the United States following the communist takeover. She later worked at Harvard University, where she helped build a major Czech-language collection. Inv. i1
