An important visual survey of European modernist and Art Deco lighting, presenting lamps, chandeliers, sconces and ceiling fixtures by many of the leading designers and manufacturers of the period. The 50 generously illustrated plates include work by Jean Prouvé, Pierre Chareau, Jacques Adnet, Edgar Brandt, René Herbst, Desny, René Lalique, Jean Perzel, Wolfgang Tümpel, Wilhelm Riphahn, Gispen, Genet et Michon, D.I.M., Sabino and others. Particularly notable are the radically geometric designs by Desny and the early lighting fixtures by Jean Prouvé. A valuable period source for the history of modern lighting, furniture and interior design. Portfolio lightly rubbed and soiled, with minor wear to the extremities; plates clean and well preserved.
