Anna Macková – Z našeho kraje [From Our Region] Bohemia: Self-published, 1956–1958. Portfolio, 22.5 × 13 cm. Thirteen original woodcuts printed on heavy laid paper, loose as issued within the original handmade-paper folder, each signed or dated in the block. A leaf in Macková’s hand lists the subjects (including multiple views of Trosky, Radim, Borovnice, and the Bohemian countryside) and records that the set was printed by the artist at Studeňany at the end of 1958, in an edition of 20 copies, of which this is no. 19. Studeňany was the rural smallholding shared by Macková and Josef Váchal, and the portfolio reflects the landscape and vernacular buildings of their surroundings. Quietly lyrical scenes in Macková’s distinctive, fine-lined manner—an intimate, artist-made suite. Complete and well-preserved. Inv. Port. 2
