1947 Postwar Guide to Košice and Eastern Slovakia, with large Folding Map

An extensive early postwar tourist guide to Košice and eastern Slovakia, published in Slovak with material intended for international visitors, including English and French text. The guide covers Košice and its surroundings, excursions, resorts and spas, the Slovak Paradise, the High Tatras, Šariš, and other destinations in eastern Slovakia. Particularly attractive for the numerous period advertisements and photographic illustrations documenting the region shortly after the Second World War. The two maps include a detailed color street plan of Košice and a regional tourist map showing marked hiking routes, roads, railways, mountain huts, and other points of interest.

VG condition. Light wear to the extremities of the wrappers, with minor rubbing and creasing; internally very well preserved. Both folding maps present and in very good condition.
