1933 Fuchs Rossmann Kroha Exhibition of Building and Living Design

Catalog of the Exhibition of Building and Housing in September 1933, under the auspices of a nationwide committee of architects, builders and industries. Today such an event would be called a builders and designers convention, with various firms, associations and industries represented at kiosks integral to the design work displayed. Brno was a virtual laboratory and showcase for Functionalist commercial and residential architecture from the 1920s. It was built out from a small regional capital into the second largest city of the country with functionalist architecture which peaked in the late 1930s. This exhibition drew from designers all over Czechoslovakia but centered almost entirely on new building in Brno. Elevation drawings, photos and plans, with essays by some of the chief Czech functionalists ----Bohuslav Fuchs, Zdenek Rossmann, Jirí Kroha, Josef Polášek, Arnošt Wiesner, and a host of other contributors.
